Willie Chu began developing his skills in the art of photography while attending the High School of Art and Design. He continued his studies, receiving his BFA in Photography at the School of Visual Arts. He currently works in the field of commercial photography and video, while continuing to pursue personal projects. His work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions at various venues such as BWAC, The Photo District Gallery, The Kevin Barry Gallery, The Packwood House Museum, PA, The Staten Island Museum, The Union and Spotlight Galleries at Wagner College and New Century Artists. He is also a member of the Creative Photographers Guild in Staten Island. He has received several grants and awards including an Original Work Grant and Premier Grant from the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island. He is currently working on videos of writers and poets as well as photographic portraits of Staten Island artists.
